![]() ĭespite the company finding success with its music, the tracks were not officially released to the public until the May 2010 release of the commercial album Invincible. ![]() With the founding of the company in 2006, Bergersen was looking for a name that would draw attention with the old adage in mind, "All PR is good PR." The idea for the name came from "Two Steps From Heaven", a Norwegian nightclub that, according to Bergersen, had a similar theme going on. The two have composed music for over 1,000 major motion picture trailers. I probably have the unpopular opinion that Clockwater is better than his If album, but both have their standouts. Two Steps from Hell was founded in early 2006 when Thomas Bergersen and Nick Phoenix joined forces to write original music for movie trailers. Marcus Warner does more uplifting stuff while Phil Lober has his own distinct style. Their Cronos album (and Portal album, though sadly it is only an industry album) are worth the check out.ĭavid Chappell is one of my favorite underrated composers, with stuff that measures up to TSFH (check out Heroes Never Die). Check them out for some great long tracks.īrand X Music.no one does synths like them. "March On" is perhaps the only non-trailerhead that measures up to them. Sadly, I want to say Immediate Music should be on the list, but their non "Trailerhead" albums leave a lot to be desired. 2WEI, Trapenese, Joseph William Morgan, Jo Blankenburg's albums are all worth the listen. Position Music also has a wide array of composers, from Harry Lightfoot to Joseph Trapenese. "Starbound" is its name and it has great uplifting tracks, with almost half possessing vocals. I've only listened to one of Soundcritters' albums, but it is nevertheless one of the best ones I've ever heard. ![]() They does a little bit of everything and it helps that they have quite a few composers. If I were to put together a top three epic music companies, it would be Two Steps From Hell, Audiomachine and Really Slow Motion. If anyone has any other specific stuff, I'd love to hear it! The Hero Within (Harry George Lightfoot), Light Is Green (Kazuma Jinnouchi), Battle for Camelot (Tartalo Music), Arrival To Earth (Steve Jablonsky) Fallout 4 Theme and Dominant Species (Inon Zur), Ted vs Walter (Theodore Shapiro), Do You Bleed? (Hans Zimmer/Junkie XL), The Ecstasy of Gold (Ennio Morricone), and one of my favorites, Run Boy Run (Woodkid). Finally, Antti Martikainen has some nice long tracks with a lot of variation (Xian, To Valhalla, and The God of Thunder are my faves of his)īesides those artists, I also love movie scores like the Pirates of the Carribean soundtrack (Klaus Badelt), the Inception soundtrack (Hans Zimmer), the Iron Man 3 soundtrack (Brian Tyler his score of Assassin’s Creed 4 is also good), the Planet Earth II soundtrack (Hans Zimmer and Jacob Shea), and the Batman Begins soundtrack (James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer)… to name a few :)Ī couple more specific tracks you guys should check out: ![]() NINJA TRACKS is a lesser known one I recommend checking out some of their stuff as well (Clockwork, Succession, The Storm, and Eon are all excellent). Colossal Trailer Music’s stuff is shorter (hence the name Trailer Music), but I’m a big fan of some of their stuff (Into Oblivion and Project Suicide are great little tracks). I’m a fan of a lot of Iván Torrent’s stuff too (Th3 Awak3n1ng and Icarus being his best work in my opinion). IMAscore has some great orchestral/vocal stuff (Andrew’s Song in particular)Įpic North is really intense and loud and I love it (Garden of Ice and Exosuit are my faves by them), as is Epic Score (Last Line of Defense, Strength to Believe, Liberators, and Blaze of Glory are all great). I compiled this list for another user, but I figured other people might like it:
